Who can be a foster carer?
Foster carers are individuals and families who can provide a stable, nurturing environment for children who cannot live with their birth families for a variety of reasons. Your willingness to open your heart and home to a child in need is what truly matters.
You must be over 25 years old to foster for Camden, but we welcome applications from all sections of the community, including:
- couples with or without children
- single people with or without children
- same-sex couples
- people who live outside the borough of Camden
Do not rule yourself out, as we look at all applications individually to see what you can offer our children.
Foster carers with Camden are not required to have a spare bedroom, however this will limit the age range you can be approved for.
Applicants with a spare room can foster children from the age range of 0-18. Those without a spare bedroom are limited to only fostering children aged 0-2.
