Camden Association of Foster Carers (CAFC)
CAFC was set up in the 1970s as an independent organisation that strives to provide Camden foster carers with support, advice, guidance and experience, on how to care for Camden's looked after children.
Everyone who becomes a carer for Camden automatically becomes a member of CAFC. The success of CAFC is down to the members.
There are annual general meetings, as well as meetings held every couple of months to work out how to best support foster carers.
There are also other events held throughout the year, including an annual trip for carers and their children and the Christmas party.
During the last few years CAFC key achievements include:
- working in partnership with Camden’s Corporate Parent Board to put forward views and contribute towards discussions about future plans for fostering in Camden
- training advocates who will provide confidential support and advice if there ever is an allegation against you
- campaigning for council tax and bedroom tax exceptions for foster carers in Camden and assisting a number of carers in obtaining larger council housing
CAFC are here to support you in the fostering journey, so please contact CAFC for support.
